Should I accept an S&T Internship for next summer?

Is S&T a shitty career to be in nowadays? Have talked to multiple senior folks in S&T and they've told me to stay away. This internship is at a top bank, however, don't know if I should take it.

Do you have offers elsewhere? If not and you have no interviews lined up before the offer explodes then I'd highly recommend accepting it. Pick groups where you'll trade illiquid products because that's where you'll hopefully always have a job, and possibly even have some exit opps.

I.e., pick distressed desks or work in something like structuring.

Got it, thanks for the advice. I do have a first round coming up for another BB for IB and have a MM offer for IB but that's it. I see myself in IB but the prestige of a BB is enticing even though the role is not ideal.

So you mean to tell me you went through networking, interview practice, and superdays for S&T without knowing about this and just now found out? More context pls.

This was my only S&T application, and the only place where I networked with S&T people. In honesty was very surprised to get an offer, because I didn't really prepare nor was very interested in the field but was called in for an interview and got lucky.
