Should I be only a CFA charterholder or have CFP/FRM designation too, in order to boost my financial analyst career?
Every opinion on the topic is accepted. I am going to go to college this autumn and study BSc in Accounting and Finance. I want to become a financial analyst and work in the stock market, an investment company (like Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Fidelity etc), Big 4 companies or any well known company (like Automotive industry, tech companies like Google, Amazon, Apple etc). Also when I'll be 35+ years old I want to open my own business and give financial advice (financial planning, risk managment) to people and businesses. What would you suggest me to do? Take the 7 and 63 series and CFA exams and probably a MBA/MSc in Finance or take the CFP and FRM exams too?
Firstly you need to actually figure out what you want to do.
‘Financial Analyst’ to “Work in the Stock market” to ‘big 4’ to ‘automotive’ suggests you haven’t actually got a clue. I don’t mean this as a slight to you, but they’re four completely different careers you’ve suggested.
