Got rejected from university Finance society, could being a founder of an M&A society help my chances of reaching investment banking summer internship? ( I am a first year ) I have plans set out on what the society would accomplish, for example fake merger pitches ( I have it more planned out than that ) Is M&A too specific?

Sophomore at target here. Being founder + President of a finance related club looks amazing on the resume (shows ambition and motivation). IB is very hard to get into so it doesn’t guarantee an IB internship but it absolutely helps for any job

More of a check the box kinda thing in my opinion but still founding a club shows some ambition for sure
