Should I switch to consulting?

I'm currently an mba IB associate and starting to realize that I miss my weekends. I'd love to join a Hedge fund but not sure how realistic it is. And I look at the seniors in my group and see that they're schedule doesn't seem to get better. If I'm going to end up leaving for corp dev or Strat anyway, am I better off switching to consulting? Consultants get all the better exits and have time to see friends and family.

Corp dev is probably easier to get as a banker and Corp strategy usually is easier for consultants to get (although I've seen hybrid dev/strat jobs but it's usually filled by experienced associates/young VPs).

Switching post MBA IB to management consulting is doable. I've seen it frequently on LinkedIn (grads ranging from M7 to T25 programs). Usually it's some boutique consulting firm focused on a specific industry. Most people however go straight to a corporate exit a year/two out of an MBA if they don't want to stay in banking.
