Should you do associate work as an analyst if you are able to?

This is more for senior analysts, I noticed that when I “step up” and show that I am ready to take on more, some associates start shifting their work to me and I find myself doing both analyst and associate work. I feel completely burned out and I see those same associates doing work themselves on other deals sometimes with people more senior than me. Where to draw the line between showing initiative and doing other people’s work?

Lol basically never do this unless you have to. Competence and good quality work gets rewarded with more work. Congrats! My advice to every analyst is to stay in your lane and manage up to make associates responsible, as they should be given their seniority and paygrade. Couldn’t be me doing associate work and getting paid like an analyst.
