My friend, who works at a top 5 BB, received 40K, which I am assuming is as much as if he had come out of b-school.
That being said, he also switched desks, although he stayed within the same group (DCM). However, switching desks probably had nothing to do with the sign on.

Are we saying that if you are promoted to associate in the summer ending your second year, you'd also receive the $40k signing? Interested in how year end bonuses are affected given half the year as an analyst, the other half as an associate.
