Small No-Name Boutique Summer Internship to Full time at a better bank (mm to bb)??

I know this has some relevant postings but some fresh advice would be appreciated. My cold-calling/networking paid off and I landed an IB summer analyst spot at a very small IT & Software Services focused M&A shop. However, there is no shot of getting hired full time as the MD doesn't need analysts. That being said, what should be my plan of action going forward for full time? I just started my internship today (5/15) and want to get a jump start on making myself a good candidate for full time. To add to that I do have contacts other banks (Needham, Stifel, Macquarie, etc) through alumni or networking. being that I haven't worked on much yet except improve a model, what should I do to improve my chances for next year? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks
