SMBC analyst interviews - technical heavy?
For anyone who has interviewed for a full-time analyst position with SMBC (especially capital markets), how heavily were the questions weighted towards technical vs behavioral?
It’s heavily weighted to Japanese dining customs surprisingly, so I would prep by going to some nyc places and ordering the omakase. Noda, Yasuda or yoshino are my favorites to prep at.
Did an interview with them for their debt group last fall. It was technical heavy. The MD who interviewed for a first round basically make us do a mini LBO based on one of the deals he worked on a while back.
When you say debt group are you referring to DCM?
Well no the debt group is just a general name for their project finance, leverage finance, DCM and other groups
