Soon-to-be first year IB analyst in NY -- International student

All, I've been a long time lurker and recently decided to create an account. I'm an international student that summered at Jefferies / HL / UBS, and accepted a return offer to start next July. However, I am getting worried. It seems that a Trump presidency is becoming more and more likely. I don't comment as I'm not an American - not my place. However, I am getting concerned with regards to Visa / work status implications. I will be working first on Optional Practical Training for a year, and then will have to go through the H1B lottery process - my bank will be sponsoring me. I fear Trump will declare a moratorium on any internationals working here if he is elected. I'm a EU citizen but I don't speak a european language - I've lived outside of the EU for all of my life. I speak only English fluently, and am an Economics and Mathematics double major at a semi-target school (top 20, LAC-like school).

If he does get elected, what are my options? If I can't start work because of Trump canceling OPT, then I will be SOL and jobless in finance for at least a year most likely. I'd really appreciate any insight into how I can start to plan ahead for that eventuality. Perhaps I am being paranoid, but it's very hard not to be.

I really appreciate any help - thanks so much in advance. I'm not sure where I should put this post, but I thought this was the most relevant forum.
