sophomore with gpa 3.3 at a semi-target, transfer to reset gpa?

Majored in math and did not do well in freshmen year, I switched to the business school. Although the GPA is now improving, I feel that it would not be high enough to land a finance internship in the upcoming summer. I wonder whether I should take the time and energy to transfer to a relatively lower-ranked school for undergrad statistics program(from USC wherein I can do BA+accounting major+statistics minor to say, UIUC or UW-Seattle wherein I can do statistic major+BA major ). The advantages would be resetting GPA(better chance to have nearly perfect GPA) and get a "harder" degree which will enable me to apply for graduate programs involving technical/quantitative stuff, like financial engineering, mathematical finance, operation management. The disadvantages are also apparent, the transfer application is consuming/there is opportunity cost in leaving a supposedly more prestigious school/adapting to new campus etc.
Generally speaking, what should be my way out if I want to break into fancy brand-name banking/finance/consulting firms in early stage of my career, given that I have kind of fallen behind in term of academic credentials(GPA basically)?
You're the saviors! Really thank you in advance!
