sourced
to say you sourced something on your resume, do you actually have to have your deal go live? or if your doing research on like 10 different potential acquisitions and running models for them to find one that could be passed on to your superiors be counted as sourced too?
thanks
For the purposes of a resume you can be vague but I generally dont consider a deal sourced unless it leads to something material. Others would consider sourcing a deal any correspondence with a prospective target that fits your investment parameters. My shop doesnt source deals...deals are brought to us by our bankers, lawyers, family/friends, LPs and industry contacts. I still dont understand the concept of sourcing and I dont see how these groups can compete. Can someone explain the sourcing model and what an average day looks like for an analyst/associate involved in cold-calling/sourcing?
