Space IB

Hi Everyone! I'm currently a sophomore recruiting for SA 2023. I have an engineering background decided to pivot to finance. I have a background and interest in space (did an internship last summer at one of the large private space companies), and was just wondering which firms tend to be strong in the sector. Thanks!

Generally, space is included into Industrials or TMT (specifically telecommunications for some satellite deals), but some groups have specific Aerospace & Defense groups (Lazard and Jefferies come to my mind). In terms of deal flow, PJT tends to be pretty strong in regards to satellite/telecommunications-related deals (they advised ViaSat), and I'd imagine GS would be pretty strong in that regards as well. Jefferies is very strong in the sector and they have a specific ADG group as well (advised in deals involving Blue Origin, Firefly, Astra, Virgin Orbit, Redwire, SpaceX, Raytheon, Viasat, Terran Orbital).

How do you see the outlook for space IB. Will dealflow continue to increase as the private space industry expands?

Networked with a banker who worked on the deal who was in TMT, so I'd guess so.
