S/T to IB after MBA?

Accepted to a deferred MBA program, that places quite a few kids into IB. Still deciding whether or not to take it. How hard is it going to be, to get an IB associate role 2 years down the line, if I have no IB/corp dev/accounting experience now? I don't want to transfer internally, because I don't want to stay with my current BB.

That's a very solid profile for making the post-mba switch over. You will get asked repeatedly why you didn't just transfer internally so have a good answer to that. What deferred program? Being at a core school helps tremendously (and gives you more options for places with fewer spots - Raine/Centerview etc.). Not sure who does deferred these days but if it's CBS/Booth/Wharton then you're set. If it's something like Darden, which is still a great school do not get me wrong, I'd still apply to the M7 as they'll place better. Hope that helps.
