Started new job after banking and feeling very stupid
I did 2 years in a Consumer M&A group. Besides the intensity and hours the work became somewhat repetitive. I just started at a Series A startup in strategic finance and I don’t know what’s going on. I’ve never used all these internal accounting tools, sales systems, the data is worse than what we’d get from clients and there’s not a clear person above me to really to guide me when lost. Also I used to just make nicely formatted outputs not all these operational metrics. They said to use AI lol. I’m on day 1 of the job literally and feeling pretty stupid which maybe is normal. I guess I felt this way starting in banking but there was a starting class around me at least.
