Still looking for 2023 SA IB position. Am I screwed?

I'm a junior at a west coast target. Currently have been heavily recruiting NY but am open to anything. Still have no offers or openings for a 2023 SA role. Semi-decent work experience but have a low gpa (dropped to a 3.1 from a 3.9) given a death of my close family member causing lots of travel / distraction. I am still recruiting hard but just cannot seem to hit anything. Am i screwed? Any advice is appreciated

Scotia NY apps open until 10/27, and a few other mm's. I would check socgen, ubs, nomura, regionals, or a strong noname that you can intern at while trying to recruit FT at a bigger place.

Alternatively, you can extend your schooling for a semester and recruit for 2024 SA. Kind've a goated move and you can find another corp fin internship for summer 23'. This is a notable opportunity cost, but if executed well you will put yourself in a better position than other SAs

Not even close. I have seen people land at solid shops in March of their junior year.

Probably solid shops as in non-BB/EB. Not a lot, but quite a few banks recruit until spring

A lot of the linked in postings are old postings that auto-refresh. I'd be careful using that for info. have seen positions filled for weeks or months that just keep showing up on LI as a new posting

I agree that recruiting for 2024 SA might be a decent bet. maybe recruit into mid-nov and then if you have no solid leads push grad a semester and hit the trail on networking. it's very reasonable to say you pushed back because of a death in the family, having to travel a lot for that etc
