Stop equity trading when my internship starts?
Hey guys, I will be beginning my SA internship in a product group soonish.
I was wondering if I should stop trading equities (for kicks and giggles. Of course nothing serious) once I start my internship, especially I'll be working in a product group.
I don't want to do anything that could potentially be suspicious. Thoughts?
Keep going. Any time you get inside info, call your brother and have him route trades for you through a brokerage account under his name. Share some of the profits with him. Good luck
Ask during training what the firm policy is for trading. You may need to move your brokerage account and use internal brokers (if at a BB) and get approvals for every trade, at least that's what they do for full time. If it's too complicated to comply, just hold off on trading for 3 months.
My last and current employers just have me send duplicate statements to compliance but I can still trade normally. I think that it might be because I don't have a huge account though.
Account size doesn't matter. Do you have access to material non-public information in your job? Does your firm/group maintain a black list for stocks that you can't trade?
Quos aliquam illo et qui. Omnis porro et sequi hic eum. Est sunt praesentium facere magni sed. Quas soluta dolores sit vel soluta est.
