Am starting at a hedge fund soon. I'll have my own bloomberg terminal with 4 monitors. Does bloomberg require a separate computer/laptop in order to work or is it its own computer plus the monitors? They haven't said anything about getting a computer for me...

Bloomberg is a software that goes on any computer.
Software + keyboard.
So the 4 monitors that I'll have...those are not the computer, correct? In addition to the keyboard and the monitors, there still needs to be an additional computer somewhere, right?

No dude, as TITTB said above, it's software for use on any PC (if u have Bloomberg Anywhere). BBA is also available in the form of an app.
It's like Microsoft outlook. You don't need a separate computer for bloomberg or MS office or anything like that. This is not 1982.
To sum up the rest:
Bloomberg essentially runs on Windows just like any other program. Given the description, it seems like your terminal will also be your functional computer as well.
What could be confusing you is the history and term "Bloomberg terminal". Years ago it ran on its own PC that you had to use, but now it's just software. They try to still keep things old school by calling it "the Bloomberg" even within the software today. Also, Bloomberg still has some custom hardware (monitors, keyboard) that's optional.

No, because the software doesn't do jack shit, you need access to the Bloomberg network to get the real-time data.
