Summer 2018 NYC Housing

Interning midtown and would like to find housing near my office. For people who've gone through this process, what are your recommendations? I already signed up for the NYU Housing list, but I am also interested in other options like subleases and whatnot. For me, most important is location and low price (won't be there much anyways). Thanks so much!

If you're coming from a university with a strong/wealthy alumni network in NYC, I suggest asking around. Lots of parents have houses or apartments they either don't use or have a spare room in. I know a fair amount of people who have been able to either live rent for or for less than $1,000 a month in major cities by doing this.

I'm going to keep an eye on this thread, because I'll be in the midtown area, too. Not trying to commute 45 minutes if I don't have to.

I am looking at a place that I found through Craigslist, 2 bedrooms 1 bathroom, for $1700 a month per person, in the East Village, for this summer (I'll be in NYC May 27- August 11 or so). If any of you are interested, let me know, I am in contact with the owner at present
