Summer internship advise

I am currently starting 2nd year in a bachelor’s degree and as I am trying to apply to summer internships 2026 I figure out my chance are low. Even tho I got an internship in wealth management, I still got into the game late and wasn’t able to attend spring weeks during my 1st year. Any tips to make my CV stands out? If I don’t get any summer internships, should I try to cold calling small boutique firms to try to get into m&a or IB?
