Summer Trading -> Full Time P/E?
Does anyone know if transitioning from a top summer trading position to a full time is possible? I'm not talking about making markets, but non-quant proprietary trading at a top shop or BB, such as citadel or a gs/ms prop desk. I'll be doing a lot of modeling work and valuing assets to help make proprietary decisions. I chose this over IBD summer offers, but I'm still hoping I'll get some interviews with P/E firms next fall. I mean, I know how what an IBD job entails, how to value companies...etc, and I think I'd do fine at any interviews, but would I be able to get any? Thanks.
If it's like Goldman SSG, they actually have a desk that does MM PE buyouts.
