SWFs comp

I've been in contact with a guy from my school who is currently doing recruitment events for the new MSc class (that I'm attending next summer). He's an ex-consultant (8 yrs of experience, not MBB), now working for a SWF based in Abu Dhabi as an "investment strategist". The subject SWF isn't particularly the biggest name among others in the regions, but it's doing quite well. While he didn't exactly mentions raw numbers about his comp, he told me personally it's "decent 7 figures". I'm trying to ask more about his role, as I don't understand what an investment strategist is supposed to do but the mf isn't being responsive anymore.

Could anyone validate his claim about comp?
