Switch to finance
Hi everyone,
I graduated from Northwestern w a degree in neuroscience with a 4.0. I applied to medical school and got a top MCAT score but increasingly the thought of staying in school for the next 10 years and hardly being paid is sounding less and less appealing. I started to think after some med school interviews about what I would do if not medicine.
Ive always been a math person and enjoy working with numbers but I've also been a grinder all my life so got me thinking about finance. My uncle happens to be an MD at a good bank in NYC so I do think I would have some connections plus just connections from my undergrad. Does anyone have advice about breaking into finance late? Is it possible and what steps would I need to take ? What finance careers have better work/life balance than IB?
