Switching from IB start up to a more established firm

I have been working at an ib start up since June '16 and for a multitude of reasons am now looking to make the switch to a more establish firm (namely anything BUT a start up). I know I need to NETWORK, NETWORK, NETWORK, but aside from that do you all have any advice for me? I'm not sure what the hiring process is like now that I have graduated college. Any and all tips are appreciated.

Do you have any advice for me regarding networking. Sometimes I feel like it's a waste when I do so with my friends who work st big banks because they're only 1st or 2nd year analysts.

Even if I don't have someone introducing me do you think that cold calling is an effective way to get the attention of more senior members?

You're right. Just applying online is usually a terrible idea... would definitely try to find any alums/people who you might be able to hop on the phone with and start making some connections ahead of applying. Also, first and second years aren't useless at all. They know HR, they have associates who they work with every day - they can help you meet people and get your foot in the door better than just applying and hoping for the best or randomly calling senior members.
