Switching from IB to FX Sales

I've been in IB for about a year in a well-respected FIG group at a MM bank and have been approached about switching to FX sales at a lower tier BB for their Corporate desk. I had an internship in S&T at a BB and enjoyed it very much. I am trying to figure out what the implications of making this switch would entail, I don't foresee myself in IB as a career cause frankly I find the work boring and uninteresting. Anyone else on this board ever make this switch or know of anyone who did? Anyone know what the career path is for someone who goes into FX sales? I feel as if it can leave someone pigeonholed.

Thanks
