Taken off a deal
I’ve been taken off Deal A (largest deal value in the team) and put on two new deals, Deal B (second largest) and Deal C (quite small, but not immaterial). Should I be offended however, that I was taken off Deal A? I was told formally by my MD that he didn’t want me to be spread too thin and wanted to share deals with incoming analysts, though I’ve done a lot of work on Deal A, however didn’t really had a choice but to be taken off it. Performance on Deal A was good - no error or damages. I guess my question is, is it normal / common for analysts to be moved around deals?
Maybe just to caveat that Deal A was never my flagship deal, I.e wasn’t something I was staffed on right from the beginning.
