Target school; intl student; engineering major

Hello everyone,

So I am a junior at a target school, but I have a couple of glass ceilings over my head: 1) I'm an international student. Completely fluent in English, lived in the US for more than half my life, completely absorbed in the culture, yet I still need to get sponsored to work in this country, and employers are not fond of that. 2) I am an engineer who figured out she wanted to go into finance a tad bit too late (aka summer before junior year). Therefore, I had 0 finance experience in my resume and was unable to get a BB summer analyst position.

I'll be working at a boutique IB this summer as a TMT investment banking summer analyst, so I guess I'm taking a step towards the right direction. However, I was wondering what I could do to possibly transition into a BB bank (and in NYC) as a full time analyst.

If the boutique IB gives me an offer, should I take it and get some work experience from it, before going into a BB?

Thanks guys, and have a great day.
