Tax rebates
I started working at a BB in July 2007. I didn't file taxes in 2007 because I didn't have income in 2006 when I was still in school (didn't have to work a formal job so the little money I did make was self-employment income and not enough to be taxed on). Probably a lot of you guys are in the same situation - do we get the tax rebates if they end up being passed, or do you have to have filed in 2007? In other words, will the people getting rebate checks be anyone who filed taxes in 2007 (for 2006), or anyone who earned income in 2007?
Not enough to be taxed on? Doubt it. The IRS can tax you on annual income over $1.00. I know what you mean though. No IRS agent is going to audit you unless you meet certain criteria.
Do I get the rebate if my parents still have me as a Dependant?
