During summer analyst interviews, I have been asked to teach the interviewer a topic that I learned in one of my business classes. Would it be best to teach something like an LBO (a more advanced topic that normally is questioned in internships interviews), or is it better to discuss a topic that is not directly related to investment banking?

If they say "business" and you know LBOs inside and out, then I'd go with that... but its probably safer to just stick with something that they aren't an expert on, yet may find interesting
Unless you have LBO modeling down perfectly, you can only hurt yourself by trying to talk about it. And if you don't know all of the details you can really dig yourself in a hole, b/c its assumed that you know it if you learned it in class. Non-banking you can at least say something interesting and sound intelligent while not knowing every detail perhaps.
