Tech guy 20+ trying to get into IB

I am a tech guy with good experience in Financial Services, the insurance industry. I am trying to get a break as an ED/ VP into one of the BBs. Any advice? LinkedIn Applications don't get a response.

If it helps, recruiting is different at the VP level and up. At my firm, you are expected to have pretty decent execution experience managing processes and such. At the director level, we look for more, for example, candidates who have some industry relationships, led negotiations etc.

There might be some value in whatever sector expertise you have, but do note that how we view that versus how a techie would is likely different as we are less product focused. I'll let folks at the BBs/EBs of the world chime in as to if having in-depth sector expertise is a selling point.
