"Tell me about a time you solved a problem"
This question and its variations are so startling to me. What's more infuriating is the people trying to solve it. Bro, what am I supposed to do with the star "methodology". I DON'T HAVE AN ANSWER to begin with. I can't answer this question because I simply don't have anything I can say here, and I've had good experience btw.
Anyone with a good concrete answer here? Please help...
Lol all these STAR questions are bullshit anyways. I just make up shit half the time. Remember all your resume bullets and think of stories you can spin based on that. That's what I basically do. You could also treat this question as a variation of dealing with a challenge. Or a time you dealt with multiple responsibilities at once
You've never solved a problem before? You can't reflect on a single instance in your life where you faced a problem, then solved it?
Try doing an inception-style answer whereby the problem you're facing is that you've never solved a problem in your life and your solution, which is the answer you're presently typing, is that you used someone else's problem/solution from an online forum to satisfy the question.
How the fuck have you never solved a problem before
Just make something up.
You know the question is coming, give them the answer than will give you the best chance at getting the job.
Well now it seems you have a problem. All you have do is solve this problem, and then you've solved your problem of never having solved a problem. Problem solved.
