Thank you to all the hard working lads and lasses who came before me in London who sweated out over the pandemic. When I started uni this job paid 50k base which was already v. high for London grad jobs, now its 70k

I believe for analyst years London is better than NYC. Cost of living is significantly lower and comp at some shops isn't as significantly different between the 2 countries. You also start earning a year earlier in the UK and have less student debt. After an2 the UK comp is pretty bad in comparison.
Also this is 70k GBP so around 95k USD. 10-15k shorter than most US bases but overall disposable income is probably higher as an analyst in London.
QoL/WLB is better in the UK though
Way better… in the US all people do is work
Not to mention London is the best city in the world. New Yorkers can point to their "nightlife" but that means jack if I'm gonna get pushed onto the tracks after a night out.
