Is it negative to say that you became interested in Investment banking because of the financial crash and it made you interested in to the mechanics of a bank?

Career Resources
Not from my perspective. If anything that is a good answer because it shows you are in tune with the economy and were interested in learning more about it and how the crash happened. Its definitely a better answer than something like your dad is in IB or you heard they make a lot of money/exit ops, etc.. Just with every answer to the "Why IB?" question, be able to go in to some detail as to what you learned and why that furthered your interest into making it a career. You dont have to sound over educated no the subject (unless of course you are), just give concrete examples and be able to back them up.
thank you
