There is a boutique IB that I want to work at... but I don't know how to approach

As the title says, there’s a boutique investment bank in my home country (EMEA) with about 10–15 employees (two of them graduated from the same school [Bocconi] and major as me). I connected with both of them on LinkedIn but haven’t sent a message yet, other than the note I attached to my connection request.

I’m a freshman and would like to do a summer internship there. What should I do? Would setting up a coffee chat be a good way to learn more about the company and the deals they work on (without mentioning the intention for an internship)?

Also, would it be wise to email people in higher positions at the firm to ask about possible summer internship opportunities?

Any advice would be appreciated.
