Think I will get an offer?
So I thought I was having an informational interview from a cold email the other day with a MM boutique bank. It was a phone interview and I ended up speaking with a partner. He asked a ton of interview questions, mostly fit type stuff, but also why my previous experiences made me want to work in IB and if I knew how to do modeling ect. Things that I see popping up in interviews other people have taken. At the end of the interview he told me they normally don't bring in SA, but would I be interested in a summer internship? Since I have yet to have an IB internship I obviously said yes I would. He said he would speak with the other MDs/partners and get back to me later this week.
My question is, do you think this sounded good? Or do you think he is going to just say the other partners didn't think it would be a great idea?
How could the people of WSO possibly know what the other partners are going to say?
Sounds like you did a pretty good job in the interview and a SA spot is a possibility--definitely not a sure thing.

Well considering i am a partner at the firm you just interviewed with, i'm going to say that i dont know what your chances are..mainly because the other partner who interviewed you lied to you. We hire many many SA's to get our coffee all summer, so there are 100's of people that we have interviewed.
But then again, as the great Lloyd Christmas once said, "you're saying there's a chance"

Hahaha thanks for the replies. Yah in retrospect I should have worded this a little different. Maybe, do you think from what I said, that it sounds like it was a good interview? Or was he just trying to politely blow me off.
