Thoughts on digital interviews

Hi folks,

I’ve been outside of the recruitment game for a couple of years now. Recently applied for a PE job where I was asked to do a digital interview through hirevue.

It sounds a bit odd to use the expression but in my days hirevue wasn’t yet as widespread as it seems to be now.

I’m a non-Native English speaker and i understand that hirevue’s AI analyses candidate’s English proficiency as much as anything else.

So I came to wonder how hirevue tackles this? I must say that I studied and worked in an English speaking country enough to be considered fluent but I’m also convinced that most well-educated native speakers will beat me at Verbal communication.

So if hirevue assesses a candidate based on a dozen of interviews conducted with a representative sample of employees of a particular company, who may all be native English speakers, do non-natives stand a chance?

What are your thoughts on this? What’s your experience? Is there something I don’t know or don’t get?
