Thoughts on Hong Kong?

Incoming sophomore here considering recruiting for HK for SA 2027.

I've heard that its financial sector is in secular decline, so it's not a great place for a long-term career, but what about just for a summer / a couple years after graduating?

Also not sure how competitive it is compared to NYC - my school's a "target" in the US but maybe not as well known in HK. I also  speak Cantonese (can't read) but look white so not sure if that would be looked upon favorably or not.

Came from a family of expats and lived there for a few years in an area where pretty much everyone was expats/from Europe. Pretty nice community actually and wouldn't mind living there for a couple years.
