Thoughts on India support team in IB at BB banks
Wanted to check what are your thoughts on India IB team supporting onshore team in US/EMEA? What is the general consensus here on quality/speed of the work?
Work is whatever, speed is aight. Will get you something overnight.
Better than not having the India team.
Useful when you have a long-hours, low-complexity project - things like making a map with 250 stars on it for locations, data scrubbing through last 10 years of transcripts, or remaking an entire investor presentation in your bank's format. The work gets done overnight, in the right situation this can save you an entire day's work
Anything more complex than simple work you often have to redo a lot of it or go back and forth with explanations - but absolutely useful for the low hanging fruit that takes a lot of time
So... basically intern work?
Ignore title haven’t updated but really useful for spreading comps, TEV builds, and things of that sort imo

Agreed, to add to the above, operational benchmarking, IPO disclosures benchmarking, beautifying PPT are some additional tasks you can get done through them

This isn’t a company. It’s an offshore group within the bank
Been pleasantly surprised sometimes - they can do pretty decent work in a short period of time. Absolutely useful when there's gruntwork to be done overnight that's mostly data pulling / organizing.

These banks all have their own internal teams that do this - hence why it's only really the big BBs that have India support. IB teams are not allowed to use outsourcing firms/external contractors since the information is extremely sensitive.
