Thoughts on Lazard London?
Incoming SA — any insights on culture, deal flow, best groups, things to avoid, comp, Exits, Notable MDs etc?
I know Laz has been struggling and is a bit of a meme in London, but would appreciate any advice

Many recent threads on this
Did you make a thread expecting people to say something new? Pretty sure there’s a lot of threads which you can start with then ask more specific Qs. And yes, they’re dying and have no exits.
Hey, thank you for replying. Most threads seem to be ~2 years old and I thought there might be some changes. Maybe new md’s joining, internal changes etc
Laz seems to be having a pretty good q1 2025 in general (but idk about Laz London)
If you were in my position, what would you do to maximise odds of breaking into mf pe?
Do you think it is worth doing a target masters and try to lateral to the bbs/cvp/evr
I also didn't find too much info on group specific dealflow/culture
Would appreciate any advice
Laz is having a pretty good Q1 2025??? They're down lol.
Financial Advisory Figures.
They also lost 33 clients over a quarter, which is mad. FYI, 61% of revenues are generated from America.
There are already plenty threads specifically about Lazard London — agree the place is dying across several groups (natres, ecm, tmt) with no exits.
Seriously, an incoming analyst who doesn't know how to search could only be at Lazard
Focus on getting a return offer, and you should get looks from top/mid BBs and CVP/PJT/EVR for FT which are better for MF exits. Not sure about rerecruiting for SA if you get a return, depends on your risk tolerance I guess as ldn market is pretty screwed atm and no guarantee of landing and converting a better SA. I've seen people do this though.
Heard they only take people with 9 spring weeks, iykyk
Don't let this die out
They're definitely God's favour
is it true LAZ only takes SA from their spring?
Previously, but not anymore.
yes

Everyone on wso dunking on laz london is the funniest thing lol. Entirely their own fault for having braindead recruiting practices and buns exits
Could you elaborate? Are you referring to converting all the springs?
Well spring converts at all banks have on average hhave not great SA conversions as most of them never bothered to properly learn technicals (as they didn't need to to land a SA). And lazards class is entirely made up of them
Quite curious why Laz London seems to be a meme here. Admittedly not an insider, but they seem to be doing fine in the league tables? Tied for 4th place in Europe on LTM basis.
Most of their European dealflow is from continental Europe
Exactly.
Hopefully, being closer to Paris will help the senior management in London improve somehow
Laz vs. HL. vs. WB? Which one to choose for EB/BB lateral and (MM) PE exits?
London? I would still go with Laz.
Unless you got HL Rx
