To current analysts: do you volunteer to fly out and interview kids?

To current analysts:

Who gets to get on the recruiting team and fly out to universities to interview kids?

Do analysts volunteer? or do they get pulled into it? How does that process work?

Also, who first reads resumes and short-lists first round interviewees? Do people volunteer for that role?

Just wanna say I am not an analyst, but from my experience they try and send analysts to the schools they graduated from. Also, I don't know about larger shops, but mid size to smaller ones sometimes give pretty junior people the responsibility to select kids for interviews. Really shocking actually.
