Too old to break into Finance?

I just turned 27 and have been working in Big Four consulting (tech-focused) since undergrad. Over the past year, I’ve developed a growing interest in finance and have been teaching myself the fundamentals for the past six months. However, I sometimes worry that I might be too old to make the switch. How hard is it to break into the industry—even at a small local shop? Also, what are your thoughts on pursuing an MBA to break in?
