Toolish vs. Down-to-Earth
Which personality does better in IB: (1) the tool who sucks up to his seniors, or (2) down-to-earth, genuine analyst
The second personality type seems more trustworthy, which in my opinion is important in an IB office environment. The first one, however, is more PC and is less likely to step on other peoples' toes.
What you guys think / know from experience.
A mixture of both pending on the situation. There's a time and place for everything, sometimes you just have to suck up your pride and take a beating and smile afterwards. (feel free to plot the other person's demise in your mind though).
