top: LevFin/Sponsors/M&A Good: Cons Retail/HC/Real estate/industrials Avoid: TMT, Power (haven't heard great things) Don't know about FIG

Bschool placement depends more on post-bank work-experience, GPA, undergrad institution and story. I've seen guys from BofA go to HBS, and guys from GS go to Stern.

Assuming your GPA isn't bad (3.5) and you went to go a good school (Ivy, top public, MIT/Stanford), your story matters most. Great stories come from guys who've done something non-traditional. IBD --> start-up biz dev --> Bschool --> VC/Capstone/entrepreneurship, etc

Well from what I've heard about BAML Europe, TMT has bad culture and deal flow isn't what it could be. On the other side, Industrials, FIG and Energy&Power seemed like groups doing very well.

The surest way to make a monkey of a man is to quote him.
