Can anyone help me out?
1) Do global banks in Toronto pay USD equivalent in CAD? Meaning if an analyst 1 in NY gets paid $110K USD, an analyst 1 in Toronto get paid $110K x exchange rate (1.30) for ~ $143K CAD?
2) Does anyone know if in general global banks corporate banking groups in Toronto do modelling/run new financings or if its all just participation/annual reviews management?
Trying to figure out what the best place to be is as a corporate banker living in Toronto to maximize comp and interesting work.
1. Yeah I heard globals (not sure if all of them) get paid USD equivalent in CAD. Same with the benefits. If uber eats budget is $30usd, it converts to ~$40
2. Don't know CB but the well established globals definitely do legit work.
Thanks! Do you have any insights to specific globals regarding the USD pay and/or which ones do “legit work” and if that involves modelling vs. Just PM/CM?
Regarding US pay only ones I'm sure of is Morgan Stanley and Lazard. I know BofA has a decent sized CB group and is a large office overall. Would assume JPM and Citi TO CB also do more than just coverage work.
Dont think GS pays USD equivalent.

Barclays will appear to have high comp with an FX adjusted base, but will end up matching or being below big 5 all-in with lower than street bonuses (Source: used to work there)

Do the banks also have their regional IBK coverage team in Toronto or are they located in NY?
