Transition from Passive Fund to IB ?

Hey All,

Looking for some advice! I am currently part of the research group at a passive/etf fund ( > USD 500 B AUM ). I have been with the group for the past two years and don’t seem to enjoy the work at all or the slow pace. As everything is Algo-based; I don’t have any expertise in financial modeling (i.e M&A modeling). I have a Master’s in Finanical Math.

I am considering trying to move to IB (at the analyst level).

Is it even possible ?

PS - I’m on an H1B visa. Only makes it worse...
