Tulane
Is it true that Tulane is now a target school? I’ve heard their IB program places at all the top banks on the street.

As a Tulane alum, no it’s not.
Currently a senior accepting a FT offer from a bank comparable to a DB/RBC. We are not currently considered a target school in the traditional sense but we definitely hit above our weight in recruiting. Increasingly gaining respect but still considered a semi-target or non-target on a bank-by-bank basis.
Definitely a school that seems to be on the rise. When I graduated high school 12 years ago, I didn't really think of Tulane as a prestigious university. Fast forward to today and it has a 9% acceptance rate. Probably not far off if not already on par with Emory, etc. Still minimal presence in IB though fwiw
You better believe they are gaming the shit out of that metric. Rejecting overqualified applicants (who wouldn't accept anyway), optional essays and lower application fees will do that.
You don't go from a 30%+ acceptance rate to sub 9% in 5 years. Totally artificial.
Tulane has nowehere near as much pressence as Emory in Investment banking. The acceptance rate is gamed like the type of kids who go to Tulane and to other 10% acceptance rate schools like Emory, WashU, Georgetown, Notre Dame, UCLA is very different
Yeah, literally never thought I would see someone trying to put Tulane in the same league as those other schools. This is crazy
False dude. Just because you drop your acceptance rate does not automatically make you a prestigious school. Lots of schools game this stat, as noted below.
