UK EB ---> ??? ---> US HF/PE
Any advice/stories about how people have made the move from IBD in London to buyside in the US?
Example paths: UK EB -> Internal transfer to US office while analyst -> Business school -> Buyside? UK EB -> Internal transfer to US office while analyst -> Buyside? UK EB -> Internal transfer to US office while analyst -> Buyside -> Business School -> Buyside? UK EB -> UK Buyside -> Internal transfer to US office? UK EB -> US business school -> Buyside?
I think the easiest path is making an internal move to the US.
Regarding buyside recruiting, I think you could have a disadvantage if you are a non-US citizen.
Internal once on the buyside or internal at my current bank? Due to visas?
I think both can be done, but I saw it more often in IB than PE.
