UK January 2027 graduation ok?

Hi

I am doing a 1 year masters which ends in October 2026

However, if I do a 10 week internship, I would officially graduate in January 2027

Do firms not mind me applying for Summer 2026 roles if it is clear that the 10-12 weeks I miss for the internship push my graduation to January 2027?

Anyone who has experience would be appreciated to get your insights!

Based on the most helpful WSO content, firms generally do not mind if your graduation is pushed to January 2027 due to a 10-12 week internship, as long as you are clear and transparent about it during the application process. Many candidates in similar situations have successfully applied for summer roles by explaining that their graduation was delayed due to internships or other academic adjustments.

For example, some candidates have stated their expected graduation date as later (e.g., January 2027) to align with internship timelines and have justified this during interviews by explaining the reason for the delay. This approach is commonly accepted, especially if the delay is due to a legitimate reason like completing an internship.

Make sure to clearly indicate your adjusted graduation date on your CV and be prepared to explain it during interviews. As long as you meet the eligibility criteria (e.g., being in your penultimate year for summer internships), this should not be an issue.
