UK – Leaving London
(Not AN1 - Ignore title) After wrapping up a few years of banking, I'm looking to move out of London to a cheaper/safer city, or possibly more in the countryside with the potential of commuting in. I'm from the Midlands.
Does anyone have any recommendations here? I know that Manchester has some sell-side firms, but don't know much more. Remote work sounds nice, but I'd feel like I'm slowing down my career by doing that. Or maybe time to strike out on my own?
A bunch of the lower / mid market firms have presence in places like Manchester, Birmingham etc. I’d just look up their offices and go from there
GP Bullhound Manchester office is tiny 15Headcount. HL Manc is from GC Altium acquisition, not sure how they do.
I believe Rothschild is the largest IB non London and have a very strong Manc connection. Clearwater do well in Bham too, not sure about elsewhere, expanding rapidly.
Tons of CF boutiques everywhere for LMM deals.
