UK: Nomura vs Rothschild

Which would you choose to start as a 1st year analyst in IBD in London?

Rothschild has the name but is mainly sell side transactions (many private)

Nomura has retained some Lehman people and so compete more directly with the main bulge bracket banks.

PE exit is what I'm after so I want deal exposure and a good modelling foundation. Any thoughts?

Sorry can't PM just yet, but would you mind pulling up the league tables for European healthcare for the past 2 years? I sadly don't have access to mergermarket. Thanks in advance!

Roths has one of the biggest M&A teams in London. Would he silly to risk Nomura.

Healthcare is well regarded and i hear there's internal mobility at Roths. However, your concerns aren't unfounded. Roths hasn't a great history for exits, but is less of a career risk. You need to get to grips of what the current situation is at Nom, reach out to guys who have left at the jnr level (there's one at BX).
