There are only 5 undergraduate target universities in the UK:

  • Oxford
  • Cambridge
  • LSE
  • UCL
  • Warwick

Although in practice, these universities only make up about 30% of the incoming class. The remainder comes from top European undergraduate and business schools (LBS, ESCP, Bocconi, HEC), and British semi-targets (Durham, Imperial, Nottingham, Bath, Edinburgh).

Mate when have careers offices ever been helpful for finance lol...campus recruiting isn't really a thing either. Fewer people end up in finance but fewer are interested. No one is going to see it as worse than UCL when they see it on a CV.

Most Helpful

Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, UCL, Imperial and Warwick are the targets out of undergrads.

Durham, Nottingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Exeter, St Andrews and KCL are semi-targets, with vast disparity between them.

Don't just pick a University based solely on IB placement however. These above Unis will still give you between a decent-very good chance of breaking in.
